March 2010: The CVA Silicone team, its culture, its values

The CVA Silicone management team has been completely renewed since 2006. The present team privileges co-existence on all levels and relies on the international backgrounds of each of its members.

Organisation is based on a simple management process centred on human and structural flexibility, on maximum process automation and on innovations in procedures and products.

This cultural change carried out since 2006 has enabled every CVA Silicone operator and technician to be fully confident in the company's strategy, which has been implemented by means of significant investment and infrastructure/equipment modernization programmes.

As far as the company skills development policy is concerned, it goes beyond the simple technical perimeter of every member of staff's job. A permanent, individualised training scheme is offered to all so that they can develop both their professional and their transverse, personal skills.

October 2009: CVA Silicone succeeds in injecting fully fluorinated SLR (FFSL), a "first" in France

In partnership with Momentive Performance Materials (ex GE Bayer), CVA Silicone has achieved a "first" in France by injecting FFSL 70 Sh A, whose principal capability is to maintain all its high-level mechanical and physical properties whenever it is in permanent contact with aggressive fluids.

The interest in injecting 100% liquid fluorine (FFSL) in place of fluoro-silicone solids (FVMQ) is to have a much better process, easier to reproduce and more stable.
Furthermore, MPM has developed a self-bleeding 40 Shore A grade LSR FFSL.

Comparatively, FFSL performs better than FVMQ in the following domains:
• Constancy of physical properties between -40 and +180°C,
• Comparable resistance level to fuel, oils, ATF, BBG,
• Low-temperature elasticity, TR10 at -60°C,
• Excellent heat resistance,
• Excellent remanence (Low compression set),
• A wide range of Shore hardness grades.

September 2009: Inauguration of CVA Silicone's new installations

CVA Silicone has modernized its production site and extended it by 1000 m² for an investment cost of 1.5 M€.

CVA Silicone has acquired a brand-new clean-room production zone (ISO 5 to ISO 7) served by two new-generation ARBURG medical presses.

On average, CVA Silicone's machines are 4 years-old, which represents a guarantee of reliability for its customers.

CVA Silicone has taken up the challenge of continuing to produce in France and remaining competitive on its markets by automating its processes as far as possible and by keeping drastic control over its production costs.

CVA' innovation policy has set the objective of launching three new patented products per year, an ambitious, offensive objective essential for the company to maintain its status as French leader in injecting liquid silicones.

Another of CVA Silicone's assets is its mould-making machine-shop equipped with renovated, state-of-the art equipment.

This integrated work-shop offers a major advantage over competition more especially by keeping control over delivery schedules.

Lastly, every year CVA Silicone designs and builds standard ?master? moulds made available to customers to enable them to limit their investments, where appropriate, merely to having the working moulds directly related to their projects.
